EZ WAY Customs App Registration
According to the announcement from the Customs Administration of Taiwan's Ministry of Finance, effective January 16, 2019, recipients must complete real-name authentication before overseas parcels can enter Taiwan for delivery.
Friendly Reminder: Taiwan customers should first download the designated real-name authentication app "EZ WAY" to their mobile phones and complete personal identity registration. Please also ensure that you fill in your full Chinese name when placing an order to facilitate customs clearance and real-name authentication processes. Please note that for orders placed by Taiwan customers, if the recipient is an individual, courier companies may, in accordance with relevant Taiwan customs regulations, request the recipient's "recipient tax number" (i.e., ID card number) to ensure smooth customs clearance and delivery.

Advance Appointment 3.0:
The third phase of advance appointment will be implemented starting August 22, 2023. For the following situations, "advance appointment" will be mandatory.
1. Had previous records of illegal import (applied for being impersonated/clicked on "Declaration Mismatch" or registered an account under false pretenses, etc.)
2. Failed to confirm appointment in the "EZ Way" app multiple times
3. Abnormal use of the "EZ Way" app account (including frequent changes to the mobile number used to register the app, multiple accounts logged in on one mobile device, etc.)
What is "Advance Appointment"?
According to Customs Administration regulations, customs declaration procedures must be handled by a customs broker before goods are imported, and the importer must consent to the customs declaration. To prevent unscrupulous individuals from misusing personal data, importing prohibited items, or engaging in illegal activities such as ghost parcels or scam parcels, a "Pre-authorization" system will be implemented in phases starting December 28, 2021. If imported express goods are not confirmed by the importer's pre-authorization, the goods cannot be declared for import.
How to operate "Advance Appointment"?
Open the "EZ Way" app ➜ Click [Customs Real-Name Authorization] ➜ Select the package for authorization ➜ Click [Declaration Match] to complete the advance appointment. Only then can the goods be imported.

How to determine if "Advance Appointment" is required?
If the words "Advance Appointment" appear in black text on a red background on the homepage or personal data page of the "EZ Way" app (as shown below), then you are subject to advance appointment and must complete the authorization confirmation before importation.

How to set up "Advance Appointment"?
*Please note: After joining advance appointment, you must operate "Declaration Match" for each import before customs declaration. If you do not need to confirm before each import, you can choose [Disagree] for advance appointment to speed up customs clearance.
New registered users: When registering to join advance appointment, you can choose [Agree] or [Disagree].

Registered users: After logging into "EZWay", please go to the gear icon (personal settings) in the upper right corner of the app and click "Maintain Member Information" to change the [Join Advance Appointment] field.

The change in advance appointment status will take effect at 0:00 on the next day; each change must be separated by seven days.
If the Customs Administration sets you on the advance appointment list, the setting screen will display a prompt [Customs-designated advance appointment subjects cannot be changed] and you will not be able to change the advance appointment settings yourself.
How does "Advance Appointment" affect parcel customs clearance?
1. If you are subject to advance appointment, you must perform "Declaration Match" for each import before customs declaration. If "Declaration Match" is not performed, the package will be returned. It is recommended to click "Declaration Match" immediately when the app pushes a notification.
2. Even if you do not check to agree to advance appointment, you still need to regularly enter the "EZ Way" app → Customs Real-Name Authorization → click "Declaration Match". If you fail to confirm the authorization in the "EZ Way" app multiple times, you will be designated by customs as an advance appointment subject.
3. Please carefully choose "Declaration Mismatch". If you have any questions, it is recommended to consult customer service first!
